At Consumer Search, you’d get a unique chance to bring your competence and experience from building similar search features in scale into use. Together with the experienced, small but growing team, you’d have full ownership of the search feature, used already by 10+ million customers. This role would be hands-on to develop high-quality code. In addition to programming, you’d share the best practices, ensure the building of scalable solutions, mentor other developers, and facilitate their expertise relentlessly around the search domain. Your handprint would surely be visual in producing an uncompromisingly good search feature which we are almost building from the ground up. With Wolt expanding beyond restaurants enabling several kinds of Retail experiences, it becomes increasingly important and challenging for us to help consumers find what they need. A universal search feature sits at the center of the organization’s wider product strategy.
This role can be based in one of our tech hubs in Helsinki or Berlin, or you can work remotely anywhere in Finland, Sweden, Germany, Denmark, and Estonia. Read more about our remote setup here.
The ideal candidate would have an extensive background in designing and building top-class software, especially similar search features at scale. We expect you to have strong knowledge of Elasticsearch or similar tools. Preferably, you’d have previous experience working within the search domain at a large consumer org. History as a coding architect is genuinely relevant as well. The team writes mainly Python (Flask, FastAPI) but we assume you can handle it with up-to-date skills from any other modern language and framework.
Naturally, excellent communications skills, capability to drive by technical expertise and get things done are crucial.
The compensation will be a negotiable combination of monthly pay and Wolt stock options. The latter make it exceptionally easy to be excited about our company growing and doing well, as you'll own a piece of the pie.
